Backpacking – Old Snowy Mt.
Old Snowy Mt. is located at the Goat Rocks Wilderness in the Cascade Range of Washington. The journey began late on Saturday afternoon, when we hiked up to the intersection of trails 96 and 86. At this point sunset was prevalent, we camped under the shooting stars and close by the cascade.
On Sunday, we reached the Pacific Crest Trail which lead us to the Snowgrass Flat at about 5800ft, this is the best part of the trail, you began discovering the mounts hidden behind short pine trees and wild flowers. Then we continue through small glaciers in where I fail the attempted of glaciating!
At this point the terrain presents rocky lava spires, and the hike turns into an easy bouldering. At 7930ft of elevation we reached the summit and the sensation is overpowering! I was at the top of the world!!! The views are fantastic, and the landscapes are incredible!!
